I wrote ‘The Outcome’ when someone who was a very important mentor to me passed away, which affected me deeply. He was such a positive, strong force. Het taught me to always enjoy the present and how music doesn’t have to be complex to be great; it has to be honest and authentic. When I was writing this song, even though he’d already passed away, it felt like he was looking over my shoulder to help me write it.
This song reminds me that not knowing where to go is part of the human experience, and that hope is one of the most powerful tools we have. I’d like to say I wrote it at a time I wasn’t doing great and that I’m all better now, but I actually still feel this way sometimes and I think that’s okay.
Our time on this earth is limited and while I’m here I want to feel it all and feel it deeply; the good and the bad. And through it all I want to stay soft, patient and kind. I hope you enjoy this song! ❤️
