This song is about the quiet guilt of staying intimate with someone you actually don’t have feelings for. About choosing intimacy not out of love, but out of a need to feel validated.
Writing ‘Butterflies’ was me realizing that sometimes we stay longer than we should, because letting go feels scarier than staying. 🦋🦋
